Review

As first years we were vulnerable to the modern and flashy appeal of the flat but as we found, this really this is not the case. To start with, the landlords do not have any respect for their tenants, all they are interested is taking our money. Whenever we ring the office because we need to sort one of the many things that have gone wrong, the rude secretary will not even bother to get the landlord or pass any messages on. Sorting out parking permits, a broken washing machine and freezer was such a big effort for them that it took weeks to solve and they were very disorganized. When we first arrived the place had not been cleaned at all, there were woodlouse in the bathroom (and still are), mould all over the celling and even the previous tenants belongings had not been removed. There are constantly work men around making so much noise yet I have absolutely no idea or seen any evidence of what they have done. I am sure they are always on a lunch break too. The walls are so thin which does not help the noise and the constant whirring of the helicopter as it circles 'the ghetto' that we are located next to. Potential students should be aware of the drive-by shooting which occured in the summer this year. Paying £72.50 per week not including bills is an absolute rip off. We are struggling to afford to heat the house with such poor insulation we feel like we are living in an igloo.
